Featured within Good Medicine: A Collection of Healing Forces, the article “LGBTQIA+ Pride and Two-Spirit People
We Are Not Separate from Our Communities: LGBTQIA+ Pride and Two-Spirit People” is featured. During this lecture, Ms. Montiel will discuss the individuals featured within her article and the Two-Spirit identity.

Anya Montiel is a curator in the history and culture department at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. She received her doctoral and master’s degrees in American Studies from Yale University and her bachelor’s degrees in Native American Studies and anthropology from the University of California, Davis
