What Feelings Welled up From Lost Lives

The text is from Rainier Maria Rilke’s Third Duino Elegy. In the poem, the lines describe a primordial connection to the past, but to me they suggested the way that a community crisis can draw us together, our grief mixed with the joy of true connection.
