Nahui Ollin

Used sandpaper collected in Latino-run construction sites

I created a design based on the concept of Nahui Ollin, which is “a concept in Aztec/Mexica cosmology with a variety of meanings. Nahui translates to "four" and Ollin translates to "movement" or "motion.

Through the use of used sand paper collected in local construction sites rune by Latino workers, I wanted to highlight the importance of their labor force.
The pandemic itself had make clear how crucial is a multiracial force, in order to keep the economy and society alive, bringing awareness about the need of a new way of thinking as humanity based in hospitality, togetherness, and kindness.
